The pattern is for pressure treated lumber to be sold very wet, almost to the point of dripping. But kiln dried wood has a moisture content between 5-10% and it doesn’t affect the weight much from piece to piece. What about weight? Won’t the heaviest post be the strongest because it will be denser wood? This is true for kiln dried dimensional lumber – a heavier piece typically means a tighter grain structure and stronger wood. You want to select posts with end grain that are tightly spaced from the middle part of the trunk because it is the heartwood that provides strength. Posts made from pith are more likely to warp, twist, bow, and splinter. The pith is weak wood because its job is to grow vertically very quickly and be flexible. You want to avoid the center of the tree – it contains the pith, which is the youngest wood in the tree. Most pressure treated lumber is either pine or fir so when you walk up to the stack of lumber, which post do you pick out? Of course, an oak post will last longer than a pine post, but we are not talking about the species of wood here. The denser the rings, the stronger the post and the longer it will last. You want to select rings that are close together. Most importantly check the end grain of the post. The knots lower the lateral strength of the wood and the included bark diminish the integrity by allowing easy access for moisture and insects to the interior of the post. The Strength of the Woodįirst, eliminate any posts that have excessive knots – especially if they have included bark. There are three main factors that will determine the life of your post: the strength of the wood, how well it accepts the pressure treatment chemical, and how well the post is protected from moisture. Not all wood is the same even 4x4s that come from the same mill and have the same treatment can have dramatically different life spans when put into a demanding application such as holding up your privacy fence. How Long Will a Treated 4×4 Post Last in the Ground? Most of the trees brought into the mill are from 10-year re-growth and the posts will contain very wide rings from the sapwood layer that simply will not last. What about cedar posts? The quality of wood coming out of the lumber mills has declined significantly over the past 20 years – it used to be that you could get old growth heart wood (from the center of the tree) that would last for decades as a post, but today the quality is simply to variable to recommend using cedar or other naturally rot-resistant wood. Wood fence posts should be pressure treated and rated for ground contact. The post bears all of the stress from wind gusts and is exposed to moisture and insects underground that can cause the post to deteriorate and weaken. When we consider the privacy fence for most homeowners, the fence post is the most critical element. There are different grades of pressure treatment and proper selection depends on the severity of the location and how the wood will be exposed to the elements. The three common types of pressure treatment are ACQ (alkaline copper quaternary), CA (copper azole), and the newest type is MCQ (micronized copper quaternary). Pressure treated lumber is chemically treated to inhibit fungal growth and insect activity. You can work through the calculations of ASCE/SEI 7-10 yourself, or just know that it is important to select the strongest building materials available. When a storm blows through the wind loads on your fence can be incredibly high and all of that load is transferred onto the post. Nails, screws and other fasteners used with pressure treated wood should be double hot dipped galvanized or stainless steel ASTM A 153 Class D.2×4 rails in 8-foot lengths are commonly used. Pressure treated fence rails should be AWPA grade UC3B if left unpainted, grade UC3A if painted or finished with an opaque stain.Avoid peeler cores when selecting 4” x 4” x 8’ fence posts. Pressure treated posts should be rated for ground contact – AWPA grade UC4A for general purpose or UC4B for heavy duty. There are many different types of wood lumber and grades available at your local home improvement store so it is important to know the important items when purchasing the materials for your repair.

Sif is the baseline caster god, but sometimes going with someone else works. Don't depend on them, they are mostly there to help you progress to end game. Some gods (Che) require vastly different playstyles.ġ2: Berserking: If you're a halfway decent in melee, this is your "slay them all" button. However, reduced effect if you're not a Trog worshipper. Beware when it runs out.ġ3: Confusion is handy for reducing early crowds.ġ4: No matter what, always have a method of chipping away HP from range. Caster, Melee, either spells, darts, or bows. There is a reason why Mountain Dwarf Hunters start out pretty strong, and stay that way. Things that can't get to melee range means potions and time you save by not taking damage.ġ5: Early emergencies. Don't be afraid to quaff potions that haven't been ID'd yet when in a tight spot. Worst case is that they'll kill you off faster. Better case is that they'll provide a much needed buff to get out of said tight spot. Not using them in a situation where you would die anyways is just wasting potential. Potions/Scrolls: Wait to begin IDing until you have a small supply of both. Healing potions tend to be the most common. Save the large stack of potions for when you quaff ID poison. With scrolls, try to wait until you have a cursed item equipped, and also have an edge weapon in your hand when you do so. Remove curse will ID on read if there is a cursed item being equipped, and curse weapon won't result in an accidental YASD if you retain the ability to butcher things. I often can reach the Lair using this knowledge (60% of the time now). I've never touched a rune, but I'm constantly progressing further down with each attempt. It takes time to learn the game, but once you do, it gets pretty satisfying to see your progression. Mostly great tips but don't be afraid to take Vehumet if you're going for a blasty type caster. His guaranteed books have lots of useful spells and his boosts to destructive magic will have you casting fire/ice storm when a "normal" caster will be stuck with bolt of foo.Ī scroll of enchant weapon/armor will remove a curse too, even on things that can't be enchanted, like artefacts. Tunnels will get you killed if you try to fight slime creatures. They were specifically introduced to lure you out into the open. Also many levels don't have corridors, so corridor abuse will only get you so far. Learn to move deliberately and pull monsters 1 at a time if you can.Ĭhe and/or Fedhas are probably the two most underpowered gods in the crawl pantheon. The problem is that many people look at the Che stat boosts and don't realize that stats aren't all that useful (as a generalization), whereas swiftness, haste/speed potions and berserk are literal life-savers. I'm a reformed Che-ite, but I'm not alone in my assessment. If you really want super high stats, pick a demigod race. Trog is a good choice, unless you want to use magic. Okiwaru isn't as strong as he used to be, but finesse and heroism are both spammable skills and will let you punch far above your weight-class. On top of that, his wrath isn't too bad if you decide to ditch him for the end game (taking TSO for example). The two "easiest" gods to use are probably Makhleb and Trog. Users are able to both manage their own expenses or set up administrative permissions to approve or deny subordinates’ or colleagues’ expense requests. Users simply need to configure the contract initiation and end dates and select whether they want to have to manually approve the invoices before they send. For businesses that have ongoing retainer-based contracts with clients, this means that billing can be set up automatically. Xero also has the ability to create repeating sales invoices. #Xero invoicing full#Xero allows users to create the full range of commonly required documents for billing and sales purposes. For teams involved in bidding on complex projects (Xero also supports creating estimates and sales quotes) this is an important addition. These could be covering notes, timesheets to support the invoices, or RFQ documents. Using Xero, users are able to upload and store additional documents for attachment to invoices. When users tick the “I track this item” box, a unit count will be deducted from the initial account and users will be prevented from adding the item to invoices if its quantity falls to zero. Xero opted instead for the middle ground, allowing users to choose to track specific items for inventory purposes. Typically, invoicing systems either integrate with ERP tools used for stockeeping, or don’t have a stock-keeping functionality at all. Xero allows users to configure a reminder cadence which will send a series of emails to customers at periodic intervals after their invoice has fallen overdue. Automated Follow-UpsĬhasing down overdue invoices is a time-consuming chore for both small businesses and large accounts receivable departments. This is useful where several invoices, assigned to different points of contact, might need to be sent into the same organization at once. Xero also allows users to assign individual billing contacts into groups. Users can also configure default payment due dates for customers so that they do not have to populate that information on every invoice manually. In addition to basic fields such as name and email address, Xero also lets users register customers’ financial details, tax information, and billing terms. Xero makes it possible to save complete records of your billing customers and suppliers. #Xero invoicing android#Price range: From $9/month (Early) to $60 (Established)Īpps: Android and iOS Features and Add-ons Contact Saving Developers can have it up and running with no lengthy setup, which makes it infinitely better than Burp-Suite.
